Compare Tool Overview

The Compare Tool in Photometric Toolbox allows you to compare the photometric characteristics of up to three luminaires side by side. The following capabilities are available:

• The Reports that contain any combination of calculated metrics and extracted photometric data from PTB's Indoor, Roadway and Flood reporting tools. The factory provided reports are as follows:
• Dark Sky Report -  Includes metrics associated with exterior light pollution concerns including LCS data.
• LCS Report - Includes metrics related to the IESNA Luminaire Classification System (LCS).
• Indoor Report - Includes metrics related to standardized interior analyses: efficiency, zonal lumens,luminous dimensions, luminaire spacing, luminance data, CIE type, zonal lumens, LER, and luminaire watts.
• Road Report - Includes metrics related to standardized exterior analyses: downward efficiency, luminaire watts, house side and street side zonal lumens, IES classification, longitudinal classification, cutoff (deprecated), max candela angles and LCS data.
• Flood Report - Includes metrics related to standardized floodlighting analyses: NEMA type, beam and field angles, efficiencies (total, beam, field and spill), luminaire watts and max candela data.
• Visualize the overlapping candela distributions using 2D horizontal cones and vertical planes or 3D transparent photometric webs to get a better understanding of how the luminaire distributions differ.
• Normalize the lamp lumens for the selected luminaires to get an apples to apples comparison or to correct for inaccurate lumen specification.
• Print your reports including specifiable polar plot comparisons.

Compare Report - This tab displays the metrics chosen for inclusion in the Compare Report.

2D Compare Plot - This tab displays the overlapping 2D vertical planes and/or horizontal cones for the included photometric files.

3D Compare Plot - This tab displays the 3D photometric distributions for the included photometric files.

Settings - This dialog allows you to select your Report Banner as well as specify the Tumble speeds applied in the 3D Compare Plot tab.

Report Setup - This dialog allows you to select which metrics to consider fin the Compare Report tab.

Print - The Print Details dialog allows you to specify the report's content as well as printer selection and number of copies.
