To save a photometric file in CIBSE format, select the CIBSE File Type from the Save as Type pull-down menu. We recommend saving photometric files under modified names (e.g., 123x) so as not to damage the original file's integrity.
The CIBSE Save dialog prompts for additional information from the user. This information is required in the photometric file, although the corresponding values can be zero.
Note: IES files based on absolute photometry can NOT be save in CIBSE format. The CIBSE format currently does not support absolute photometry.
Label Lines
The first eight lines in the CIBSE file are descriptive lines containing descriptive text about the luminaire, lamps and other notes and comments. Line 1 is reserved for the CIBSE/1 keyword and is not shown in the dialog. PTB will use the keywords or first seven lines from the IES file to populate lines 2-8.
Each label line can hold up to 60 characters; The TEST, LUMCAT, LUMINAIRE and LAMP fields must contain values. Blank label lines are permitted on lines 6,7 and 8.
Luminaire Test Info
This section includes the Input VA and Design Attitude values. By default these values are set to zero.
Input VA - Apparent power consumption of the luminaire.
Design Attitude - The attitude, in degrees, at which the luminaire is designed to operate, measured with respect to the horizontal plane. For indoor luminaires, this value is 0, for roadway luminaires it is typically 5.
Luminous Area Information
This section defines the luminaire's shape and luminous areas associated with glare calculations used the CIBSE TM10 method.
Glare Shape Code - This pull- down menu describes the luminaire's shape.
Luminous Area of base - Projected luminous area of the base of the luminaire.
Luminous Area of side - Projected luminous area of the side of the luminaire.
Luminous Area of end - Projected luminous area of the end of the luminaire.
