Other Methods To Load Photometric Files Into Toolbox
In addition to the Open and InstaBase tools, there are two addition methods available to load photometric files into Photometric Toolbox: Drag-and-drop and directly from a Windows folder.
Drag-and-Drop
- Open Photometric Toolbox
- From any file folder in Windows, select one or more IES, Eulumdat (LDT, EXL) or CIBSE (CIB, TML, C1S, CC) photometric files
- Left-click on the selected files and hold the button down while you 'drag' the files to Photometric Toolbox
- 'Drop' the files into Photometric Toolbox by moving the files into the loaded files list (white section on upper left side) and release the mouse button
- You will be notified if any of the files has a problem and can not be loaded. If this occurs, you should try to open the file using the Open Tool to get more detailed information about the problem and possible repair options
Load Photometric Files from a Windows Folder
Single IES File:
- From any Windows folder, simply double-click on an IES file (the IES file extension is associated with Photometric Toolbox)
- You will be notified if the file has a problem and can not be loaded. If this occurs, you should try to open the file using the Open Tool to get more detailed information about the problem and possible repair options
- Note: This method only works for IES files
Multiple IES Files:
- Select files from any file folder in Windows
- Right-click and select Open from the pop-up menu
- You will be notified if any of the files has a problem and can not be loaded. If this occurs, you should try to open the file using the Open Tool to get more detailed information about the problem and possible repair options
- Each file will be loaded into a separate instance of Toolbox. To load multiple files into a single instance of Toolbox, use drag-and-drop or the Open Tool
Single or Multiple Eulumdat or CIBSE files:
- Select files from any file folder in Windows
- Right-click and select Open with...
- From the pop-up menu, choose Photometric Toolbox
- You will be notified if any of the files has a problem and can not be loaded. If this occurs, you should try to open the file using the Open Tool to get more detailed information about the problem and possible repair options
- Each file will be loaded into a separate instance of Toolbox. To load multiple files into a single instance of Toolbox, use the Open Tool
