Switching Luminaires

The Switch Luminaire commands allow the user to temporarily switch luminaires On or Off, such as in the case when considering multiple switching strategies. Luminaires can be individually toggled on or off or selectively switched using the Single, Window or All functions.

The Switch Toggle command allows one or several luminaires to be toggled on or off, depending on their current status.

From the Modify menu, select Luminaire - Switch-Toggle On/Off, or from the Luminaire Toolkit, select $image\luminaire_switch_button.jpg$ .
With the pick box attached to your cursor, select each luminaire whose switch status you wish to change. If a luminaire is selected by mistake, simply select it again to reverse the command.
When finished selecting, right click. The Command Line will indicate how many have been selected.
Right click again or press Enter on keyboard to complete the command, or press Esc key on keyboard to cancel the command.
Selected luminaires that were previously On are now Off, and vice-versa.

Alternatively, luminaires may be switched On or Off with the Switch-On or Switch-Off commands and the Single, Window or All options.

To switch one or more Luminaires On (or Off):

From the Modify menu, select Luminaire - Switch-On (or Switch-Off), or from the Luminaire Toolkit select $image\luminaire_switch_button.jpg$ (or ). Note: The pull-down menu for each of these buttons provides the opportunity to select Single, Window, or All. See next step.
To selectively switch luminaires On or Off, click on the pull-down arrow to the right of the button to invoke the secondary (pull-down) menu.
Select Single, Window or All.
Select the luminaires to switch. For Single, click on one or more, one at a time. For Window, draw a "window" by clicking opposite corners of a rectangle that encloses the luminaires you wish to select. To select all luminaires that are present, select All.
The Command Line will indicate the number of luminaires selected. Right click or press Enter on keyboard to complete the command, or Esc key to cancel the command.

Notes:

If luminaires have been assigned to Channels, switching a luminaire On or Off affects all of the luminaires in the same Channel.
Luminaires may also be switched On or Off in Scene Manager, by selecting or unselecting SwitchOn for the relevant Channel.
