Moving Luminaires - Concepts
Move Luminaire Commands
The Move Luminaire commands allow you to move a single luminaire, multiple luminaires, or all luminaires while optionally maintaining their associated aiming parameters. Three commands are available:
• Move
• Move - Same Aiming Points
• Move Single Luminaire and Re-orient
(a combination of the Move and Re-orient commands)
These commands are available in all views: Plan, Isometric, and Elevation.
Move Luminaire
The Move Luminaire command is designed for luminaires placed using the Static Aiming or Locate and Orient options. It can be used with luminaire groups or arrangements and is the primary command for applications such as site lighting, indirect lighting, and others. Any applied tilt, roll, or spin will be preserved. This command can also be used with luminaires placed using Locate and Aim, maintaining the aiming vector statically.
Move Luminaire - Same Aiming Points
The Move Luminaire - Same Aiming Points command is intended for luminaires placed with the Locate and Aim option. It is not available for luminaire groups or arrangements. Use this command when you need to maintain an aiming point while changing the luminaire location—for example, increasing setback for sports lighting, façade lighting, or other floodlighting applications.
Move Single Luminaire and Re-orient
The Move Single Luminaire and Re-orient command combines the functionality of the Move and Re-orient commands. This command is useful when repositioning a luminaire while simultaneously adjusting its orientation, providing greater efficiency in workflows that require both actions.

Selecting Entities by Mounting Height (Luminaires, Rooms, Objects, Drawing Entities, Calculation Points)
To filter and select entities with the same mounting height (or Z coordinate), press the Ctrl key during selection. This applies to all entity types, including:
• Luminaires
• Rooms
• Objects
• Drawing Entities
• Calculation Points
This feature is particularly helpful when working with stacked or layered entities. The Z coordinate (displayed in the lower-left corner of the interface) can be adjusted using the Page Up and Page Down keys on the keyboard.
Note: The filtering key has been changed from Shift to Ctrl to avoid conflicts with the Shift key’s new function for deselecting entities.

• Ctrl = Filter entities with the same mounting height (Z coordinate)
• Shift = Deselect entities

Enhanced Selection Tools (Starting V22.2)
You may now select multiple luminaires across different selection modes (click, window, polygon), and deselect with Shift-click. This applies before executing a move command and allows more flexibility.
The Move command also supports directional window logic and concludes with a right-click or “Done.”
